            In this novel, the main characters are the writer, Betty, Lisa, and Eddie. The writer is a lazy person. He does not want to get some effort in being a writer. He is a loyal person although he is not too care with Betty. Betty is the writer’s girlfriend. She is a mad woman, and introvert. She never tell her sickness to the writer until she died. She is also so care about the writer’s life, especially with his job and his writing. She  want the writer being a good writer. Lisa is Betty’s sister. Her life is so comfortable although she life alone. She is a widow. Eddie is a Lisa’s boyfriend. He is a businessman and he likes to help the other. Giving people job and other.

The most interesting point of this story when Eddie give  surprise in Betti’s bithday. Its surprise with good lightening, scenery, and a delicious cake. And then, the point that is confusing is when Eddie want to meet Betty who is hospitalized but he does not know the real name of Betty. I dislike most this part because he has life together for along time. In the story, I really want change the character of Betty. I want she become more patience. Then the larger issues dealt raised by the story is the writer’s writing. Betty and Eddie always disscuss about it. While read this novel, my feeling was flat. There is no a big conflict.
