Error

Introduction
Learning language like English in Indonesia cannot be separated from mistakes and error. When students learn language and do mistake but they can correct it themselves it is call mistake, but if students cannot correct by themselves and they do not know that they make mistakes it is call error.
Learning activities and error correction is something important which stands equally in learning process. It is happened because every level of learner will make mistakes In the process of learning. It become a great task for teacher to correct or to do not correct the mistake made by students in learning process. It is needed for teacher to consider about the most effective way in correcting students’ mistake, because it will be a critical point in learning process.
As a teacher candidate we think that mistakes are good things and students need to know that they had made mistakes and how to correct it themselves so, if they know that they had made mistakes it means that they need to learn more and more. We like mistakes because we think that we can all learn from them and because if students don't make any mistakes it means the teacher won't have a job. We think if there is a student who doesn't make any mistakes in the class the teacher should move that student to a higher level class because s/he obviously isn't learning anything at that level.
We think that the ability to correct themselves when they make a mistake is an important one for students to develop. Encourage it and give them time to correct themselves - don't jump in immediately to correct them. Most students (and included some teachers) seem to think that it is the teacher's job to correct students mistakes but this is not necessarily important. It is right that teachers can correct their students endlessly but how will that help the students' mistakes when they go out into the big wide world - who will be there to correct them then?
Based on the statement above, we did school observation on “TEACHER RESPONSES TO LEARNER ERROR”.
To make the problem clear we’d like to identify the problem that will be investigated as follows:
a.       What happens in language learning process?
b.      Do praising and correction occur?
c.       How do the teacher correct and praise the students?
This observation is aimed to know what teacher should do in error made by students in language learning. We hope this research may become a support material to get a better way of language teaching.
